- Gordon Roger Alexander Buchanan Parks (November 30, 1912 - March 7, 2006) was an American photographer, musician, writer and film director, who became prominent in U.S. documentary photojournalism in the 1940s through 1970s-particularly in issues of civil rights, poverty and African Americans-and in glamour photography.
Parks was the first African American to produce and direct major motion pictures-developing films relating the experience of slaves and struggling black Americans, and creating the "blaxploitation" genre. He is best remembered for his iconic photos of poor Americans during the 1940s (taken for a federal government project), for his photographic essays for Life magazine, and as the director of the 1971 film Shaft. Parks also was an author, poet and composer

One of the greatest photographers/visual artists of all time. His work exudes a feeling that is palpable.
Amazing photographer, one of the very best!
Gordon Parks; one of the greats. What an incredible portfolio! The images of Black America in the 50's & 60's are very moving. They really tell a story.
Thank you for introducing me to this talented photographer!
I received my first SLR camera from my dad in 1969 at age 12. This is when I learned about Gordon Parks in Life Magazine. His work had such an effect on me. A magnificent role model.
Wow thank you for this..I’m the biggest fan of Gordon Park .. Thank you again
If a picture is worth a thousand words Gordon Parks wrote volumes about life in the US, from the tragic to the sublime. ❤
Merci de ce travail de présentation, de vos recherches, du temps passé à orchestrer ce beau format. La photographie sera toujours passé, présent et futur, traversant le temps comme un témoin générationnel. Tanks Mister.
So good, so good. Best way to know a photograph. And the music is quite good.Thank you.
I love this series, thank you! One photographer many may not know of who you might feature is Keld Helmer Peterson. A Danish photographer who was THE pioneer of colour photography, self publishing the wonderful book, “122 Color Photographs “ right back in 1948, way before Haas, Leiter, Eggleston et al, her the mainstream. Interestingly, his later career, experiments and style very much aligned with Gordon Parks,
the way he captured emotion gave him the ability to show it to the world. I think in his movies like Shaft & The learning Tree are two examples.
So beautiful… ❤
Magnifico, thanks
thanks a lot for the photo and for your work
