I had no idea it was entirely digital. I guess it’s easy to make that illusion of a real painting when you hand draw almost every single pixel. Amazing work here Jason, you absolute crazy man
when I was standing in the field on sunset and listening to crumbling castle I felt like I was riding a velocyraptor in a wild praerie. i was on acid also
I never thought I'd see the day where a band and their insanely talented artist would manage to make an entire mystical universe, perhaps by chance, through their music and art.
Gotta just think their albums have some of the most detailed artwork of all time, polygondwanaland and MOTU for sure. I think Poly represents paradise and MOTU just the opposite
The Horology/Fourth Color cycle, I believe, serves as a prequel to Han-Tyumi and the Murder of the Universe cycle of MotU. Crumbling Castle is about a world getting remade and scavenged from the remains of the previous. Altered Beast saga and the Lord of Lightning Vs Balrog saga takes place in the altered world, so I think it takes place in the same universe as that of Crumbling Castle but much after, when the world has already been stabilized. However, the tyrant from the Horology saga and the Lord of Lightning could be the one and the same, which would indicate that Lord of Lightning vs Balrog takes place before the Horology saga, or at least before the exiled one returns back as a god. But it's mentioned that the Lord of Lightning rules over the altered world. Personally, I believe that there's some space-time shenanigans going around since Han-Tyumi props up everywhere. Lastly, Deserted Dunes/Polygondwanaland saga clearly takes place in the altered world, after the world has stabilized, but a lot before the Altered Beast saga, since it's relatively medieval and brings to mind the idea of colonialism during the medieval ages.
Also, the Altered Beast cycle, the Lord of Lightning vs Balrog cycle and the Deserted Dune/Polygondwanaland cycle all contains spoken word, which makes me think that all three takes place in the altered world.
Anyone read " The Secret Teachings of all mankind. " by Manly P. Hall. Similar artwork throughout the book. He went around collection the most ancient and rare books from around the world and compiled a glossary of sorts. I'll push pause and continue viewing later. -GIZZ
really enjoyed watching this. such an amazing album. equally amazing artwork. I know this album is free but i need a physical copy just for the artwork.
The three images togther tell so much more of a story than just the front cover (especially the last with the vomit verse all over it...) was there any release with all this stuff or are the second and third images new?!
This is by far the greatest music video of all time! All hail KGLW for sharing the skills behind the visuals for the band. (CLIENTS - SEE WE DO TRY EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU SEE IT - Im not a biter Graphic Designer at all....)
Wait whats up with the second piece of art? Ive never seen it before. It looks like it would be on the inside cover of the album, but I have the official pressing and its just a sleeve, not a gatefold.
1:25:14 I'd like to imagine that Jason spent lke 5 minutes trying to draw a dinosaur and just said "fuck this shit" and started drawing another castle
musically this is my fav gizz album and anything to see behind the scenes related makes me dribble pee pee
so you could say you are king jizzard
I had no idea it was entirely digital. I guess it’s easy to make that illusion of a real painting when you hand draw almost every single pixel. Amazing work here Jason, you absolute crazy man
gonna tell my kids that this album was for free
And they won't believe it.
To be released for free? This album was phenomenal, sure will be remembered
Wait is Polygondwanaland in the public domain?
@@meltingcolorsthatdontblend1982 hell yes
Elias Gutierrez oh shit man! That’s insane. Especially for the albums quality.
so this is the making of Polygondwanaland's cover with a double repeat of the entire poly album. it's nice and hypnotic to watch!
when I was standing in the field on sunset and listening to crumbling castle I felt like I was riding a velocyraptor in a wild praerie. i was on acid also
yeah something similar happened to me, but was not on acid
and the award for most sentance of all time goes to this guy
I never thought I'd see the day where a band and their insanely talented artist would manage to make an entire mystical universe, perhaps by chance, through their music and art.
They are so creative and talented, just what I want and what I like
My heart skipped for a second because I thought this was the Nonagon movie.

What is "Chunky Shrapnel"
Do you know what the Nonagon Movie is?

This has inspired my belief that a concept should be able to be represented in one picture. Great job!
