- This version of "Runaway" along with his follow up hit, "Hats Off To Larry" were recorded in May 1987 at a Spring Break concert in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 2 tracks comes from the “Spring Break Reunion: Rockin’ Era” DVD & digital audio release from Liberation Hall.
Del Shannon is a rock & roll legend, his 1961 debut single “Runaway” ranked #1 in countless countries including the US, UK and Australia. The international smash has numerous covers with versions by Elvis Presley, Small Faces, Bonnie Raitt, Misfits, Avengefold Seven, Kasabian, Travelling Wilburys and many others.

I love this song.
We sat in the front seats in a Pub in Australia. Watching Del Shannon, he was wonderful. Tragically, he passed away not long after. RIP Del.
