The meaning of ‘in every respect’ is to not do any other pooja but to have faith in only one God by mind-action-speech.

स पर्यागाच्छुक्रमकायमव्रणमस्नाविर५ शुद्धमपापविद्धम् । कविर्मनीषी परिभूः स्वयम्भूर्याथातथ्यतोऽर्थान् व्यदधाच्छाश्वतीभ्यः समाभ्यः । ८ । वह ईश्वर सर्वव्यापक है , जगत उत्पादक , शरीर रहित , शारीरिक विकार रहित , नाड़ी और नस के बंधन से रहित , पवित्र , पाप से रहित , सूक्ष्मदर्शी , ज्ञानी , सर्वोपरि वर्तमान , स्वयंभूः अर्थात् अजन्मा है वही अनादि काल से प्रज्ञा जीव के लिए ठीक ठीक कर्म का विधान करता है ।
